Red Shetland is a "funny animal" comic book character created and
drawn by Richard Konkle and Jim Groat. She is an anthropomorphic
shetland pony version of Red Sonya, a warrioress not unlike the
popular Xena, though Red Sonya existed long before Xena.

The first time I saw the cover of the comic Red Shetland, I thought,
"I have to make that costume! I know we can do it right!" So, Ed Kline
and I put our heads together and that's exactly what we did. We
came as close as we could in recreating a 2D character into 3D. The
mask went through about three incarnations before we arrived at
the final version.
