Hi, everyone!

My surgery went amazingly well! My anesthesiologist was a wonderful woman who, when I told her I was
nervous, patted me and said, "We'll fix you right up."

They gave me an shot into my I.V. and I asked what it was. She smiled. "That's a cocktail that's going to
make you feel really good in a few moments." They started wheeling me to the operating room and the next
thing I was aware of was a soft female voice saying, "We're done, honey."

I said, "What? You're kidding!" I lifted my head to confirm what she said and saw my foot all bandaged up.
Woah. Talk about smooooooooth. If I could fall asleep at night so nicely...

The foot is…disturbing. I'll have to post a photo but it might make some folks queasy. It almost makes ME
queasy. But as it's not eyes or brains, I can deal with it just fine. *grin*

So, I'm being made to take a mini-vacation. I am allowed to either be sitting, lying on the sofa, or sitting at my
computer with my leg elevated. And that's it. Nothing else.

Very nice. And so's the pain killer. *smile*

I've updated a section of the http://www.klinefx.com/DreamwalkJourn.html Dreamwalk Journal on-line comic
site. If you go to "What the Hell is That," and tap on the ANATOMY button, you'll see what Ed's been up to.
*smile*

Also, good news. The landlady isn't selling. She's just fixing things that need fixing according to the insurance
company. She's raised the rent, but that was at my own suggestion as we've lived here for ten years and she's
never raised the rent in that whole time.

I am SO relieved. But I'm still going through our stuff and packing stuff up into storage. It really is time. It
also makes more room for more junk. *grin* Gotta do a thorough house cleaning like that every once in a
while and it's been WAY too long!

But, no, I'm not doing anything toward that at this moment. I'm not allowed. Hee hee hee.

Instead I have a box of stuff beside the sofa for me to be "distracted" by. Needle point and counted cross
stitch patterns I've wanted to do for a couple years. A few puzzle books. Coloring books. Drawing pads.
Colored pencils. Etc. And a book or two to read. One that I'd looked for, for years, titled Marie Laveau by
Francine Prose. I read it when I was eighteen and when I looked for it a few weeks ago, found it…but it must
be close to a collectable as the lowest price available was in high $20's and as much as in the $70's. Woah. So
I got a used copy that is in excellent shape.

And, last but definitely not least, striped hugs and kisses to EVERYONE who sent me good wishes after my
surgery! I really appreciate it and it always makes my heart smile!
