Okay, okay. I know. Late late late. Been really busy trying to deal with life and all that kind of stuff.
First. Yes. Walkies. Been doing that fairly regularly. Little bits but still walking. Even when Fleur has to go
clear across the country we go walking. Don't know how that works. Wish I did.
But, I suppose if Labyrinth tried to explain it to me it just wouldn't work. *snrk*
Okay, to get back to what folks are really interested in.
I realized that everything I wrote was kind of mixed up so I'm going to try and get it in the correct order so
that folks don't get the wrong flow of things.
We got to the hive, right? Went through a few vast, and I mean vast, rooms and was escorted by Aris to the
Council Chamber. This is where I got things sort of mixed up. We stopped at the Council chamber first. We spoke with the rather delightful council. I mean they were really delightful. Like cool aunts and uncles. Not like our political leaders and all that crap. They more just keep an eye on things to keep them running smoothly. They advise the Queen but if she chooses do not take that advice they do not argue. After all, she is the Queen and she earned that position. (We'll get into that way later.)
I'm sure we talked for hours but it sure went by fast! It was through that chamber that we were apparently
introduced to the entire hive. There's some sort of system that projects a figure onto these huge round crystals. The Queen addresses the entire hive through them. I think I mentioned them in an earlier posting. I noticed them as we walked through the hive but they did not have anything on their screens. They were a swirling kind of milky color. Now I knew what they were. Cool, no?
Something that I've not gotten across in most of my writing so far. Not well enough, anyway.
Everyone is happy. I don't mean that weird happy. I mean really happy. Like, um, just flying made them
happy it seemed. I saw so many of the honeybees just flying and spinning up up up to the super high ceilings and then come diving down laughing uproariously as they dive bombed one another.
The "teens" were always talking and giggling.
It wasn't as if they were not taking things seriously. It was more like…life was worth enjoying, even with it's
seriousness. Everything could be dealt with. Why worry?
No, that's not right. I could see that some of them were worrying about getting caught by predators, but it was
a wry, humor filled kind of worry. A rolling of the eyes, etc. The whole thing is so...so... not human!
Very difficult to describe and comprehend. Then I set it aside as alien. Remember that Danny. It' s not
human, even though they all have physical attributes that appear to be very close to human in form and function. There's something there that sends chills through me when I tried to think on it. I made a note to ask about that. After all, they knew about "oomans." There might be some kind of connection. |
