From the Cafeteria Leonurus escorted us down and around and such to...the Lab. In actuality it's both the
Lab and factories where things are produced. It, of course, was huge. Massive. Filled with weird things that I
have no idea as to their use.

It was like being introduced to the wonders of the hive's more obvious aspects that are actually unnoticed.
There was even bee crystal being produced there. That's their main building material.

And I am not even going to try and describe what I saw there. Sorry. I'm leaving that to Johnathon. It was too
much and it's now just half images. He remembers. *smile* And I could likely write an entire book on it!

Leonurus told us that the lab is where they try to answer questions that cannot be answered otherwise. As
she said this to us, we came up to a very short - even for a honeybee- honeybee. *grin* And she had the
funniest hairstyle for a bee. She's the only one I saw with that sort of page boy cut instead of a fluff of golden
hair. It all hung flat on her head.

"This is Dill, our Chief of Natural Sciences."

Dill's eyes practically popped when she saw us. She tried to act professional but I could tell she was bursting
at the seams to rush up to us. She stared with an almost uncomfortable intensity.

I was being examined.

If she'd had a microscope that I could lie underneath, I'm sure that's where I'd have been placed.

I watched her look at her own hands and then ours. She smiled and said, 'Excuse me a moment' as she lifted
Fleurs hand and slowly examined it, turning it over and then back to palm up and over again. I think she
spent almost five minutes doing that. Talk about scrutinizing!

"Hmmm. Yes. There seem to be some similarities. Hands - five fingered. Upright walk. Breasts and genitals
look similar. Of course I can't be totally sure...

Fleur laughed aloud at that as I squatted in front of her. "Are you trying to make some corellations between
humans and Cyeateans?"

She humphed and hummed and then nodded. "I'm not sure, but I believe there is something to do with our
past where oomans come into play."

"You don't know?" Fleur asked.

Dill shook her head, sending the silken mass flying only to come back to lie perfectly framing her face. "I do
not know. There are many mysteries to be found in the Archives. I believe most of our questions might be
answered there, but my work keeps me very busy. I have little time to spend there though the questions fill
me. I would be happy to escort you there."

I nodded, questions filling my head. Dill was right. Five fingers. Genitals. And even a common language -
though I still wonder if I'm just understanding because I'm here/there, in Cyeatea. Who knows?

There is the clearing of a throat. "It is I, Dill, who shall attend them," intones Leonurus sweetly to the
smaller honeybee.

Dill's antennae vibrate. "No. Tis mine to share. I shall escort them."

Leonurus' grin grew wider. "First sting?"

Dill's eyes rolled and then she dove at Leonurus, both stinger extended - DAMN! Those things look
frightening!

Fleur and I both jumped out of the way as Dill came at Leonurus.

Dill HAD to be no more than a quarter inch from Leonurus' belly when Leonurus did a backflip and then the
most beautiful spin, her stinger landing right into one of Dill's nipples and out again, leaving the offended
body part standing at full attention to the point of throbbing.

Leonurus laughed as Dill gasped and stopped moving, her body vibrating from the arousing and completely
painless sting.

Dill squatted, still vibrating, holding on to her breasts and chuckling. "Pooh. I lost. Fine. Just let me know
what you find out, right?"

Leonurus moved to Dill and kissed the top of her head. "No silly bee. You shall accompany us. I just want to
lead," she said with emphasis.

Dill bowed and then bounced up, smiling with glee, and gratitude. Then she was all seriousness and business.
Her face back to the sort of concentrating frown I first saw upon it. I found out as we walked, this was simply
her normal mode of behavior. Her voice was all excitement. I've known folks like that. Their expressions
completely deceiving.
