More catch up!
I'm not going to go in order here because I'm so excited. I'm going to be jumping around a bit, but not too
badly.
What I want to get down first is that I was taken to see that old friend of mine.
And memories didn't just flood through me, they slammed through me with the force of a tidal wave.
And I hadn't even reached her...lair, yet. It was the odors. Her smell. When I got a sniff of that my knees
buckled. Honest to god.
The imagery that went through me was almost frightening. But at the same time, I was suddenly so damned
aroused that I was drenched! I would have been embarrassed if I hadn't see that many of the honeybees were already in the same state. A bit disconcerting at first until I smelled the fragrance of honey all over them. Then it was just damned cute!
As we drew closer, all the Cyeateans kept back as they nodded to me to go ahead forward. Fleur and I. Even
Theta stayed back.
It was very dark. Or so I thought at first. Our eyes adjusted and I about, well, I don't think I screamed. I'm
proud I didn't whimper.
Fleur just whistled under her breath. "Well, I'll be damned."
Hanging in the middle of a very large - very chaotic - web was an elegant black, centauroid spider.
The moment my eyes landed on her, I recalled her name.
The Widow Nightshade.
A voice rasped - coming from everywhere. "Good Hunting, my Damiana. Human Danny. Return you to again
explore my geometry?"
How to describe her better? Velvety black. Shiny black. In the middle of her abdomen was the expected
hourglass, but this hourglass was very detailed filigree. She was, in a word, georgeous. For a spider. For a black widow. And she was huge. Or maybe she just appeared huge because of her presence. But I swear she had to be almost as big as the wolf spider I saw earlier.
I stood rather frozen, feeling intensely like running, moving, something other than just standing there.
Luckily I had Fleur with me and her hand was reassuringly on my shoulder. "She really a friend of yours?"
she whispered, staring.
"Indeed, friend of Damiana - Danny. We have been...well acquainted with one another for some time," came
that raspy voice in response.
Now all this happened after meeting the Council and all that transpired from that meeting. But, honestly - this
stood out more in my mind. *grin*
I should write about that, though.
Okay. In order. Leonurus introduced us to the Council. I've always pretty much disliked any kind of
"governing body" because every one I've seen has at some time degenerated into power hungry people who forget about their original purpose. To serve their people.
I should not have been concerned. Though disconcerting because they had no mane, no hair on their heads,
they were all cool folks. And they all listened to Leonurus. They were all more like a bunch of kind aunts and uncles that she looked to, to hear their opinions on things and then take that into consideration when she made her decisions. But, from what Theta told me, if she disagreed with all of them, that was acceptable. She was the Queen, but knew she might not see something someone else did. If that makes any sense.
So, we met them. (I'll write more on that next installment. It was...different.)
Then Leonurus made an announcement over their odd technology that echoed through the hive on these very
large screens. Yes, screens - which I failed to mention, I know. There were huge screens in the main areas upon entering the hive. Apparently that's how she is able to address everyone and inform them of what is going on at any one time if something has to be announced to the entire hive. I guess they are like huge TV/movie screens, but not. The only similarity is that she is projected onto them for everyone to see. That's it. I think it's made of a series of crystals of some kind. (I'll have to ask my Johnathon about that one. *grin*)
Her announcement was something like this. "Good hunting all! This promises to be a most exciting day. With
us we have two new guests that I would like for you to welcome with open wing into our hive. I believe that rumor has gone before me and teased you with their arrival. The rumors are true. They are oomans. Yes, as legend would have it, real oomans. I believe that Bael has sent them this way in order that we should learn from them and they from us. The have traveled a great distance with two of our people who will remain with them as they travel and they are all very excited to be here. Their friends are our old friend Theta. SueMac, a beautiful Fire Wasp who is currently without egg and has given full Truce also travels with them. She is well met and most welcome here, to our hive. And our two special guests names are ooman Danny and ooman Fleur. They are fairly newly arrived to Cyeatea. Remember, they are not from Cyeatea, thus everything is new to them. As if they were children." She smiled at that. "Let us show them what Cyeatea has to offer, shall we?" she said, her voice filled with laughter and excitement.
"We shall be introducing them through-out and learning much from them, I think. What of you? Give them
welcome when you meet them. And -- Good Hunting all!"
I could hear cheers everywhere. Excitement in the place ramped up a hundred fold. I thought it was excited
before. Nope. That was normal honeybee attitude. Woah.
Fleur and I ended up holding hands a LOT of the time. So much - how to describe it. If I say everyone was
happy, it could sound sort of surreal and happy in that brainwashed way, but it wasn't like that at all.
Happy day in a school yard full of children. No, hmm. I know! Christmas time for children. No, that's not it.
Damn. Hmm. Have to work on that one so you can all appreciate it. It was truly cool. As I said before, quite disconcerting, but not creepy.
We got tons and tons and tons of hugs! Everyone wanted to touch us. Loads of "Good Hunting" and
"welcome!" and such. It was pretty cool. I guess we're now true celebrities. *Bwa ha ha ha ha!* For some reason, that idea cracks me up. I usually hate being the center of attention. Fleur of course, loves it. Remember, she's a total ham and extrovert when it comes to things like that. I loved it as much as she did - though my silly little human "wary" brain kept popping up from time to time.
I kept being nervous and looking around occasionally for some stress that wasn't there. I saw Theta actually
laughing at me about it. Not in a mean way, but in some knowing way that I just didn't understand. Not yet, anyway. I figured it out pretty quickly a while later. (I'll get into that a bit later too, though.)
When we left Leonurus' Council chamber after her announcement, as I said, we were semi inundated with
greetings and embraces. There were "teen" bees that squeezed in and bid us welcome and, I have to say it, occasionally stung us! Just like Theta said.
Yes. You read right.
Stung.
Woah.
I didn't feel the stingers at all. No really. Not at all. But if you SAW them, you'd be convinced that you could
not not feel them. Long suckers.
But the effect?
Like I said...woah.
Instant soft orgasm. Talk about watching each other shudder. Fleur and I were trying hard not to crack up as
we tried to walk normally.
How to put this delicately.
I can't.
We squished. Well, not exactly squished. We were so wet, though that it started to become a bit ridiculous.
And Theta just hovered, laughing. When he realized what was happening, though, he whispered something to
Aris, who was also accompanying us and she was suddenly gone. Damn she can fly fast. I suppose that's why she's a Flight Leader.
She was back almost as quickly with two soft cloths about the size of a hand towel. She smiled widely as she
handed them to us. "Our apologies. Most of us can either vibrate our bodies free or we carry tucked, small cloths similar to this when we know the day might be particularly active. We were not aware that you do not have this ability."
Active? Right. I grinned as we took the towels and tried not to be embarrassed as we quickly used the towels.
They were darned soft and amazingly absorbant without being messy. I want some.
Awesome.
Whoops!
Phone call! Fleur. Gotta go. I'll be back!
